Low-card, or low-set, brush metal cards are preferred by those who print less frequently. This is because the low-card allows the paper to lay flatter and is easier to cut out. This is the ideal cut out for many people who print things once and then print them again. You can use a sharp utility knife to make these cuts.
There are many advantages to choosing either high-card or low-card brush metal cards. One advantage is that they are interchangeable. If you print one page and then do it over with a new ink cartridge, you can just swap out the brush metal cards in order to get a new look. It is very easy to do. Another advantage to using either variety of brush metal card is that they are less prone to smudging. Smudges are very difficult to remove from the surface of a piece of printed material.

Also, they are typically only available in larger sizes.
